Vienna Tours by Vehicle

The greater Vienna area (outside the 1st district) offers several interesting highlights, best visited by bus or limousine. These tours by vehicle enable the visitor to gain insight into Vienna away from the bustling tourist routes and hear about the typical everyday issues that move people in Vienna.

Ring Boulevard

Classical City Tour

This tour includes all the classic highlights of Vienna. We will drive along the Ring Boulevard, the splendid legacy of the Habsburg Monarchy’s former grandeur, past the Ferris Wheel in the Prater Park, and across the different sections of the Danube River to get a glimpse of the city’s modern urban development. There will also be a stop at the Hundertwasser House or at the Belvedere Palace.

City Hall

City Tour plus a Habsburg Palace

A shorter bus tour along the Ring Boulevard and a brief peek at the Ferris Wheel in the Prater Park will leave us enough time to pay a visit inside a Habsburg Palace of your choice, such as Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburg’s former summer residence with its splendid Baroque gardens or the Imperial Apartments at the Hofburg, the former imperial winter residence.

Abbey Heiligenkreuz

The Vienna Woods – Heiligenkreuz Abbey & Baden

Vienna is almost completely surrounded by extensive forested highlands, characterized by charming natural landscapes and featuring several cultural highlights. Join me on a tour to the southern Vienna Woods, where we visit the famous Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, dating from the 1100s. Then we continue on to Baden, an old spa town, whose thermal springs were used by the Romans and the Habsburgs alike. We will take a stroll through this little town and discover its charming beauty.

Klosterneuburg Abbey

The Vienna Woods – Klosterneuburg Abbey & Wine

The vast monastery complex features outstanding medieval artworks, such as the magnificent Verdun Altar, a brilliant masterpiece of enamelwork dating from the late 1100s. Afterwards, we drive uphill through the Vienna Woods to a vantage point, which offers a fabulous view of Vienna. To round off the tour, we visit one of the many wine taverns and sample Vienna’s wine and hearty food.
